The server has its own power supply, and so does the 2 hard drives. It may not be getting enough power, tho, to do anything. Basically i have little cheapy server, which allows me to add 4usb connections through my router. Its an external device which ive brought seperate to the router. So i have 2usb hard drives and a printer connected to it.
